2015 International Education Conference on Small Island Developing States – Seychelles

The AVANI Seychelles Barbarons Resort & Spa played host to the first International Education Conference on Small Island Developing States (SIDS), held this year from the 5th to the 8th of July at the Seychelles beach resort. The event was organised by the University of Seychelles with the aim of bringing together educators, researchers, academics, professionals and policymakers from around the world to discuss the current challenges, new developments and the future of education in SIDS. Keynote speakers included Professor Michael Crossley, Professor Mark Bray and Professor Michael Samuel while a number of speakers came forward to present their research on topics such as gender, special education and remedial needs, curriculum content and education for sustainable development.
