Abu Dhabi Expects 5% Rise in Cruise Tourists in 2017-18 — Fast Growing Cruise Tourism in Abu Dhabi

Abu Dhabi is fast emerging as a popular destination for cruise tourism. The 2017/2018 Abu Dhabi cruise season began with the arrival of the luxury cruise liner Seaborne Encore and it ran until 5th May 2018. The Abu Dhabi Department of Culture and Tourism aimed to lure 346,000 travellers around the world to increase the tourist growth by 5%. Being the only city in the Middle Eastern region that has a cruise stopover beach on Sir Bani Yas Island, it features some of the finest Abu Dhabi Marinas and resort options such as Anantara Sir Bani Yas Island Al Sahel Villa Resort. With the intention of enhancing the popularity of this significant destination, a cruise development committee established by Abu Dhabi’s General Secretariat has implemented a cruise charter to address the future course of the cruise tourism industry in Abu Dhabi.
