Anantara Peace Haven Commemorates World Wetlands Day – ‘Wetlands for a Sustainable Urban Future’

A tree planting initiative was hosted by one of the newest Tangalle hotels in order to commemorate World Wetlands Day. Held on 2nd of February 2018, this project was seen as a way to make a tangible difference to the environment. While promoting the values and importance of wetlands, Anantara Peace Haven Tangalle Resort marked the occasion with this initiative hoping that it will serve as a method to inspire passion within the local community and guests towards environmental conservation.

Kadurupokuna Maha Vidyalaya School students and resort guests were pleased to be a part of this great cause to preserve, restore and retain Sri Lanka’s mangroves and wetlands. The initiative was held under the global theme of ‘Wetlands for a sustainable urban future’ to raise awareness about the importance of wetlands for the planet and humankind in general.
