Ayurveda Treatments Manuscripts in Layman’s Language Soon – A Giant Step for Indigenous Medicine

The Minister of Health of Sri Lanka Dr. Rajitha Senarathne addressed a media conference with relation to the TradMed International Symposium on Traditional and Complementary Medicine, Educational Exhibition & Trade Fair, held at Ramada hotel, Colombo. He stated that the 600 odd Ola leaf manuscripts are currently being translated into layman’s language and that Ayurvedic physicians in the country are requested to submit whatever manuscripts in their possession in exchange for a price or a reward. This is an event that is scheduled to be held from 23rd to the 25th of November 2017 at Waters Edge Colombo. The Minister further provided this will support the government’s long-term plan of making the country a hub for traditional and indigenous medicine. In Sri Lanka, spa hotels around the island including the luxury brands such as Anantara Peace Haven Tangalle Resort will complement this process.
