British Food Week at Cheers Pub with Executive Chef, Rob Kennedy

A celebration of food from the UK, a special British Food Week was held at the beginning of the year at Cheers Pub at Cinnamon Grand Colombo. A highlight of this foodie event was the presence of award-winning British chef, Rob Kennedy who lent his own unique cooking style and talent, preparing many classic dishes from Britain that had a distinct modern element to it as well. Held from 22nd to 29th January 2016, the British Food Week at this well known Colombo hotel pub was open for lunch and dinner. Patrons had the chance to sample such dishes as fish & chips, sausage roll & bacon jam, braised beef, roast pork and lamb pie, along with desserts like bread pudding, apple pie and ‘Eton Mess’ featuring meringue, whipped cream and berries. Executive Chef of the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst, Rob Kennedy has won many international accolades and has personally cooked for HRH Queen Elisabeth on several occasions.
