Chiang Rai Elephants Camps Giving Bath Breaks to Relieve Elephants from the Heat – Cooling off near the Kok river

Elephants have long been an important part of Thai culture for decades, as both war steeds and loggers, but since of late, due to deforestation and floods, many elephants and their keepers have been unemployed and homeless. This was solved with the introduction of an elephant camp in Thailand. Here, elephants and their mahouts, could earn a living by giving rides and staging shows for visitors interested in seeing these majestic beasts in a natural environment. Tourists eager to see elephants have the choice of a few established camps, like the Chiang Rai Elephants Camps, located near the Anantara Golden Triangle Elephant Camp & Resort, where currently elephants are offsetting the extreme heat wave with leisurely river bathes. Visitors can watch the elephants near the Kok River daily, playing and bathing in the cool waters.
