Ching Ming Festival 2018 – “Tomb Sweeping Day”

Ching Ming Festival is falling on the 5th of April this year, and it is a special day in China to commemorate the ancestors. This festival is also known as the Tomb Sweeping Day, Clear Bright Festival and Festival for Tending Graves.

The ancient festival dates back to more than 2500 years in Chinese history and its quite often the only day when families visit the tombs and graves of their ancestors. Flying kites is another tradition people follow on this day while less traditional people do not visit their ancestors’ graves. Chinese people around the world use this day to remember their relatives and if you are planning to be a part of this festival, reserve your stay in a Hong Kong hotel the likes of Dorsett Wanchai Hong Kong prior to your visit.
