Cruise Visits Booming – Oman Sees an Increase in Tourist Arrivals

The cruise season in Oman has already crossed the halfway mark, with 217,000 tourists, and rising, visiting Oman. According the Ministry of Tourism, the figures are up by 47.6 percent, and will continue to climb. Oman is often viewed as one of the safest places to visit in the Middle East region, and regularly receives a high number of tourists annually. Oman’s old towns, like Nizwa, attract tourists with their historic structures and oasis ambiance, whilst still offering modern facilities and accommodation, such as the Anantara Al Jabal Al Akhdar Resort, for example, a luxurious Nizwa hotel. The Ministry of Tourism also stated that the total number of visitors to historic forts was up by 14.3 percent. Jebel Al Akhdar, Oman’s green mountain, have so far received a total of 10,000 visitors in 2017.
