Etihad Airways to increase Maldives frequency during peak summer months in 2017 – Expanding services to Maldives

Etihad Airways, the flag carrier and second-largest airline in the UAE, recently announced it was adding another four weekly flights to its Abu Dhabi – Male route. The strategic move will see the airline increase its services by 11 flights per week, between the months of July and September 2017, to better cater to the high demand for flights to the Maldives, during the peak travel season. The Maldives attracts thousands of travellers yearly, Emiratis included, seeking pristine beaches and luxury getaways at some of the best Maldives resorts, such as the Anantara Kihavah Maldives Villas, for example. According to the airline, the additional services will be backed up by a two-class A320 aircraft. The statement comes as the UAE carrier completes its fifth year of operations to the Maldives.
