First female secretary general appointed in Maldives – A bold move by the Maldivian government!

The 9th of July 2018 was a historical day in the history of Maldives. It was the day the country’s first female secretary general; Fathima Niusha was appointed by law makers of Maldives. She was elected with 33 votes which she had received from the members of the ruling Progressive Party of Maldives (PPM). The country needed a new secretary general since the resignation of the former secretary general in February.

The newly appointed secretary general will be closely monitoring the country’s administration activities and it is believed that her decisions will solely be on the side of developing the country via the industry of tourism which is good news for best Maldives resorts the likes of Adaaran Select Meedhupparu. Critics also say that this will change the views of the westerners that “Maldives under respects women in the political sphere”.
