Giselle – Poetry in Motion

Grace, beauty, heartbreak and all conquering love come together in Giselle, one of the most well known ballet productions scheduled to be performed by The Australian Ballet this July in Adelaide. This romantic ballet will be held from 2nd to 6th July, 2015 at the Adelaide Festival Centre and those interested in attending and in search of close by hotels in Adelaide CBD can consider Oaks Horizons.

Premiered in 1841, Giselle tells the story of a village girl who dies of a broken heart after being deceived by the man she loves. Subsequently however, her spirit has to battle the ghosts of jilted women who in an act of revenge seek to harm the man she loved. A Maina Gielgud production with designs by Peter Farmer, this ballet will give audiences a chance to fully appreciate the story of Giselle. There will also be a pre-performance discussion with Nicolette Fraillon, the Music Director of Giselle as well as a post performance Q&A session with a panel that will include David McAllister who is the Artistic Director. Both of these events will be held on 6th July and are free of charge.
