Indonesia Welcomes 6.9 Million Foreign Tourists in Wake of Free-Visa Policy – Booming Tourism!

Following the commencement of the free-visa policy for citizens from more than 169 countries worldwide, there’s been a boom in tourism in Indonesia with over 6.9 million foreign tourist arrivals. The policy was first implemented in June 2015 with just 45 countries being given free tourist visa privileges for 30day stays.

Since March 2016 a total of 84 new countries were added to the list, bringing the total to a staggering 174 countries worldwide. With the rise in tourist levels, the government has called for increased boosts in development in major tourist areas.

Known internationally as a tourist destination for its beautiful beaches and luxurious resorts in Bali seem to be Indonesia’s biggest tourist attraction. Many global hospitality providers are set in motion here, such as the Anantara Seminyak Bali Resort.
