Keeping Bali Beaches Clean: UNWTO – Initiatives for a plastic free world!

With the rising number of tourists each year, Bali is facing a crisis in managing plastic waste. In order to manage waste in an eco friendly manner the government has join hands with international organizations in order to protect the country’s beautiful beaches and the ocean surrounding them. According to recent researches it has been found there are more plastic particles in the ocean than the number of fish. Though many people already know the importance of recycling plastic only 5% of the plastic used in the world is being properly recycled. In order to solve the Bali’s plastic crisis resort properties the likes of Alila Seminyak which is a Bali hotel in Seminyak, along with many others are bringing in initiatives to go totally plastic free. The government is also conducting awareness programmers along with beach cleaning campaigns to get rid of the plastic problem and to keep the Bali’s beaches clean.
