Launching of Kobe Restaurant at Kuramathi Maldives – Gastronomic Treat for the Eyes & the Taste Buds

In a bid to cater to Japanese food lovers, Kuramathi Island Resort in the Maldives launched its specialty Kobe restaurant recently. Guest can now enjoy an authentic teppanyaki experience at the resort. Maldives is an idyllic haven to savour the delicious concoctions of seafood, meat and assorted vegetables cooked on an iron grill by a skilled chef who displays his talents right in front of diners. Teppanyaki style cuisine originated in Japan in 1945 as culinary experts tried to introduce western influenced food to Japanese diners. Chefs usually use lobsters, shrimp, kobe beef, chicken, scallops, cabbage and even noodles cooked with animal fat, vegetable oil and soy oil to make these gastronomic delights. Most modern teppanyaki grills are propane heated and considerable in length to allow ample space to showcase chefs’ talents during the process. Teppanyaki chefs keep up with a chain of tricks including setting up onion rings to catch fire and shoot up, breaking eggs in midair and much more throughout the cooking process.
