Maldives Expects Record Tourist Arrivals in 2017 – Numbers Show a Promising Future

Addressing the audience following the inauguration of Hotel Asia Exhibition 2017, a senior minister commented that the Maldivian government expects this year’s tourist arrival records to exceed the total numbers of last four years. Ahmed Munavvar, Finance Minister of Maldives stated that the numbers recorded over 700,000 arrivals by the month of July and that it can be considered as a major achievement. The reports further declared that the minister revealed government’s expectations of boosting the numbers up to 1.3 million by the end of the year.
