Maldives tourism records 61 percent occupancy – An Increase since 2016.

According to the Maldives’ Tourism Minister, as of July which marks half way through the year, the beautiful islands of Maldives have recorded 64.1% tourist occupancy. Although it is now an off peak season with many Maldives luxury hotels and resorts experiencing low occupancy, more than 657,540 tourists have entered the country since January; which makes it a 6% increase as compared to the same period in 2016. However, some properties such as Adaaran Club Rannalhi have received a higher occupancy rate despite the off peak season. It has also been recorded by the tourism ministry, that May; with only 51% percent had been marked with the lowest occupancy rate over the first half of the year. The peak season in Maldives is ideally between the months from November to April.
