McDonald’s Townsville Running Festival – A Challenging Run in Queensland

Last month saw the completion of the annual McDonald’s Townsville Running Festival, held in the coastal city of Townsville, Australia. Hotels in the area offered the ideal base for both participants and visitors looking to enjoy the many races held at this popular running festival in north-eastern Queensland. The event was organised by the Townsville Road Runners, who initially began the Townsville Marathon in 1972.

Held on 5th August 2018, this year’s festival was yet another success for the organisers and all those who participated. The starting point for the races was the Jezzine Barracks, 10 minutes away from Oaks Gateway Suites. Events at the McDonald’s Townsville Running Festival included the Mike Carney Toyota Townsville Marathon, the Daikin Townsville Half Marathon and the Townsville Airport 2.5K Hero Run which is a special race that gives the whole family a chance to participate.
