New Riverside Observation Tower to be Opened – The Latest Addition to Bangkok’s Cityscape

According to recent reports by the Bangkok Post, the government of Thailand is planning to construct a massive observation tower along the Chao Praya River banks. The proposed tower is expected to reach a height of 459 metres which will make it the country’s tallest structure, beating the record currently held by the 304 metre tall Baiyoke Tower. Once completed, this new observation tower is set to become the latest attraction in the riverside area which is already home to several Bangkok resort and spa options such as Anantara Riverside Bangkok Resort. As part of a series of developments along the riverside, this new project is expected to cost US$111 million and will also have a special exhibition on the tower’s top floor, highlighting the kings of Thailand.
