Oman Launches 2040 Strategic Tourism Plan in Italy – Long-Term Goals for Development

In a bid to capitalise on the growing number of visitors from Italy, Oman was recently part of a special roadshow promotion in Rome. The country also launched a long-term strategic plan targeting 2040 and will focus on greater promotion of the destination and the local culture as well as developing accommodation facilities. At present, tourists in search of a resort or hotel in Oman have a number of options; in keeping with varied tourist needs, such places to stay can be found at diverse locales be it in the city or even amidst the desert at properties like Desert Nights Camp.

The choice to select Italy for the launch was due to the fact that it was seen as a key target market as well as there being a significant increase in tourist arrivals in 2018. Italy ranks third when it comes to the breakdown of contributing markets to Oman from Europe, with Germany and the UK taking first and second place respectively for tourist arrivals.
