Overhead Wires in Phuket Buried – End of a Six Year Project

The Provincial Electricity Authority of the popular Phuket Old Town has now completed a three-phase project to bury the town’s overhead electric cables.

The beautification of Phuket Old Town is a project that began all the way back in the year 2010 with the start of burying overhead electricity cables down Thalang Road. The final phase of this long-running project began in 2014 and ultimately ended in September 2016.

All year round tourists from all over the world travel to Phuket. Thailand is situated in the Andaman Sea and is famous for its beaches, tropical atmosphere and engaging culture. While Phuket City is busy with its markets, the island is also home to many upscale beachside resorts such as the Anantara Mai Khao Phuket Villas among others. The nightlife in the nearby disco-town of Patong is also well favoured amongst travellers.
