Punakha Drubchen Festival – a glimpse into the Bhutanese culture and history

The famous Punakha Drubchen Festival was held from 23rd February to 27th February 2015. The annual festival commemorates the victories over the battle with Tibetan army. Considered as one of the oldest festivals in the region it’s a dramatization of the means the Bhutanese militia defeated the invading Tibetan army. The venue the event was held at a fortress known as Punkaha Dzong that is situated near two rivers as well as temples.
