Ramadan in Maldives 2017- The best time to immerse in culture.

Ramadan is observed by Muslims around the world as a month of fasting from the months of June to July. This features daily fasting from sun rise to sundown thus being a Muslim country, most restaurants are closed during the day. In the evening the fasts will be broken in a special ‘iftar’ meal and for guests in any Maldives island resort this is the best time to enjoy delicious cultural, Maldivian treats. Iftar is a delightful meal which often includes Arabian sweets such as dates and Ramadan juices with exotic flavours of rose, apricot and karamadine. Most resorts such as Adaaran Club Rannalhi offer special ‘iftar meals with family style buffets and menus. This is also a time of celebration thus you may come across various cultural activities such as fire dancers, belly dancers, traditional music and so much more.
