The Phrase “So Sri Lanka” has become the newest tagline for tourism from the 5th of November this year. The new tagline will be used in almost all promotion activities relating to the country. The amazing “So Sri Lanka” tagline was hatched from the ideas of a private advertising agency, J. Walter Thompson (JWT) as it secured a 2 million USD bid to develop the new brand image. Speaking to the local media, Dehan Seneviratne, who is the chairman of the Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau (SLTPB), stated that a new global promotion campaign will be launched next March, at ITB Berlin which is one of the most popular travel and trade fairs and the largest of its kind in the world. Popular Sri Lankan tour specialists the likes of Delmege Tours which is a local travel agent in Sri Lanka will no doubt look forward to adapting their marketing strategies to encourage tourism with the new tagline.
