Sri Lanka Aims for 3 Million Tourist Arrivals in 2019 – A Bold Move by the Sri Lankan Government!

On a statement made by Sri Lankan Tourism Minister John Amaratunga on 22nd of August, he mentioned that the government hopes to attract at least 3 million tourists in 2019, making the country one of the most loved and most sought-after tourist destinations in the world. The minister also added that the government is also planning to partner up with a global branding agency and launch a branding campaign at the World Travel Mart which is to be held in London during November. Economists state that this will be a major opportunity to the travel and hospitality industry to thrive and improve. Apparently, resort properties such as Anantara Kalutara Resort along with many other Kalutara hotels and resort properties located in other regions will be greatly benefitted by the government’s new move.
