Sri Lanka Conference Centre Project Set to Give MICE Sector a Boost – Expanding MICE Tourism

Based on the newly released National Tourism Strategic Plan 2017-2020, the Tourism Ministry of Sri Lanka is calling in for more aspiring conference centre projects in order to grow MICE tourism, than it was pictured in the last two government budgets. The plan said “Colombo lacks the capacity for events beyond an audience of 1,600. A new centre should be a hi-tech flexible space with seating capacity for 8,000 that can be reformatted for trade shows, indoor sporting events, concerts, performances and consumer shows and have adequate parking.”
