Sri Lanka confident in attracting over 2.5 million tourists in 2018 – Tourist Arrivals Increase

The influx in tourist arrivals in Sri Lanka has been a direct result of the increase in arrivals from China & India according to statistics revealed by the Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau. The country continues to attract a wide range of tourists, be it those on the lookout for a hill country accommodation or a coastal hotel in Bentota the likes of Shinagawa Beach.

According to a statement made by John Amaratunga, Sri Lankan Tourism Minister, the island nation is expecting to attract over 2.5 million tourists in 2018 and has urged embassies to withdraw travel restrictions issues against this country. Furthermore, the minister said that they have organised several events including an international golf tournament, a digital advertising campaign and more to attract and retain tourists and visitors.
