Thailand’s travel spend makes gains – Tourism: one of the main contributors to the country’s economy

On a recent survey done by the United Nations World Tourism Organisation (UNWTO) Thailand has been identified as the country which tourists have spent most money than any other countries in Asia. The figures of the survey were based on cash receipts in various countries and credit card spending data obtained from major credit card brands from all over the world. It is also worth noting that the country held the same record with a tourism expenditure of whopping 57billion USD last year. Other countries didn’t come even close to these figures with the closest completion being Japan which had 34billion USD. While this year’s monitory figures are yet to be compiled it has been expected that the figures will be far more than last year’s spending. With a myriad of attractions around the country, and with properties built around exquisite areas such as Chaweng Beach. Resorts the likes of Anantara Lawana Koh Samui has also contributed to tourist spending more since these are high-end properties that offer exclusive services. Visitors are also happy to spend more money as the value they get in return is more than what they spend.
