The 10th edition of the Pacific Mini Games took place in Port Villa from the 4th till the 15th of December. The event is called the ‘mini-games’ because it follows the same format as the Pacific Games, albeit on a smaller scale. It is still a major multi-sport event, and each occurrence is expected to bring in more business. As it is this South Pacific Ocean nation offers several Vanuatu resort options for travellers to choose from including Holiday Inn Resort Vanuatu.

The grand opening ceremony took place on the 4th of December 2017, and the weightlifting and judo teams, respectively, took part as they were the first on the schedule of events. Guam’s one and only weightlifter, Jacinta Sumagaysay, bore the nation’s flag proudly during the ceremony. She previously set three Guam national records during the Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games in Turkmenistan.
