The Ethical Elephant Camp in Thailand – An Exotic Getaway Amidst Gentle Giants

Renowned news provider The Telegraph recently featured an article on the Phuket Elephant Sanctuary, which is known as an ethical elephant camp. Frequented by celebrities, the sanctuary was launched at the end of 2016 in the jungles of Phuket. Those looking to add the Phuket Elephant Sanctuary to their bucket list when vacationing here can consider accommodation options at Phuket villas within easy reach of the sanctuary such as Anantara Mai Khao Phuket Villas. Much like at Chiang Mai’s Elephant Nature Park located in northern Thailand, these animals are considered “retired”. The co-founder and Yorkshirewoman Louise Rogerson revealed to The Telegraph that the sanctuary is dedicated to offering the elephants some dignity, as opposed to the cruel abuses practised on them, and allowing them to reside in their natural habitat.
