The book, “Review of the Southern Border of Sinharaja; Contemporary needs against conservation” was launched last year and highlights the need for conserving this forest which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Published by the Environmental Foundation Ltd. (EFL), the book focuses on a study that brought to light the status of the Sinharaja Forest at present along with shortcomings in conservation efforts and the need of sustainable forest management. The book launch took place at the British Council Library on 7th December 2018 and it is hoped that it will help to create awareness which will lead to effective conservation efforts.

Listed as a Biosphere Reserve, the Sinharaja Reserve is home to a diverse range of endemic flora and fauna. Nature lovers planning to explore this forest have the option of staying at Deniyaya hotels with those like The Rainforest Ecolodge providing eco-friendly accommodation right on the fringes of the forest reserve.
