Tourist Arrivals in Maldives Increased with 10 Percent in the First Nine Months of 2014

According to the Maldivian Ministry of Tourism, tourist arrivals to the island nation have increased with 10 percent in the first nine months of 2014. The news of course is no surprise as the beautiful archipelago is filled with gorgeous beaches and a multitude of luxury Maldives villas such as the Kuramathi Island Resort Maldives . The increase in tourist arrivals is also fortified by Maldives winning the title of Indian Ocean’s Leading Destination and Indian Ocean’s Leading Beach Destinations, an award offered during a ceremony hosted by World Travel Awards. The Maldivian Tourism ministry further stated that the highest number of tourists that visited Maldives this year originated from Asia and the Pacific with Europe being the second largest market generating region to the Maldives. The ministry further noted that the Maldives had been the holiday destination for a staggering number of 901,004 tourists, and counting!
