UK tourism to Maldives up 9.8 percent

Visit Maldives, the official tourism promotion board of the country has announced that they have observed a steady increase in visitor arrivals from the United Kingdom. According to Visit Maldives, the 2016 figures revealed that there was a 9.8% increase in tourists from the UK. This equated to a whopping 101,843 UK tourists in 2016 compared to the 92,775 in 2015. This boom in tourism is speculated to be owing to the recent increase in flights from airlines such as Emirates as well the constant addition of Maldives luxury resorts, for instance like the PER AQUUM Huvafen Fushi Maldives; throughout the years.
