Vietnam Tourism Grows – A Positive Upward Trend

Southeast Asia’s (ASEAN) popular travel news provider, TTR Weekly recently unveiled that tourist numbers in Vietnam are showing an impressive growth overall. According to the estimates of the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism, the country has welcomed 972,844 international travellers in the month of May representing a 26.8% growth over the same month in 2016. Whether holidaying at a city hotel in Hanoi or a beach resort in Mui Ne such as at the popular Anantara Mui Ne Resort, Vietnam offers diverse experiences for travellers. The records revealed that China was the main supply market for this influx with 300,531 visits accounting for a 35.5% improvement. Amongst other top performers when it came to visitor numbers were Russia, Taiwan, Japan and South Korea. The Deputy Prime Minister commented that the government hopes to see the number of foreign travellers to the country increase by 30% this year compared to the initial target number of 11.5 million international arrivals. He further stated that if the target is met, Vietnam would welcome 13 million international travellers in total.
