Tourism Australia’s largest trade event for the year took place from the 20th to the 23rd of May. The 44th edition of the Australian Tourism Exchange 2024 (ATE24) was held at the Melbourne Convention and Entertainment Centre and brought in thousands of delegates. The event turned out to be a landmark event for the Australian tourism industry.
The event brought together 1500 members of the Australian tourism sector and 714 retailers and wholesalers from across the globe. Over the course of the event, approximately 50,000 one-on-one business appointments will take place, fostering valuable connections and business opportunities.
Tourism Australia Managing Director, Phillipa Harrison, emphasized the importance of ATE24 in light of the resurgence of international travel. Harrison stated that the volume of international tourists arriving in Australia is catching up to the numbers seen in 2019 and that the business created thanks to ATE24 will play a big part in the future of local tourism. Looking ahead, Avani Melbourne Central Residences and any other hotel near Melbourne and other states will be able to see a good number of bookings for accommodation.
