The 44th edition of the Australian Tourism Exchange (ATE) was held in May with a traditional ‘Welcome to Country’ ceremony by the Aboriginal Traditional Owners. The event, running from May 19th to 23rd in Melbourne (Narrm), was the largest ATE to date, featuring 1,500 seller delegates from over 30 nations.
The Minister of Trade and Tourism, Senator the Hon. Don Farrell, addressed the delegates, expressing optimism about the industry’s recovery. “With the industry recovering, and the continued success of our ‘Come and Say G’day’ campaign, I predict we’ll exceed our pre-COVID inbound travel numbers by the end of the year,” he stated.
The conference, a key event in the tourism calendar, aims to boost international travel to Australia, showcasing the country’s unique attractions and accommodation options including many a Box Hill hotel in Melbourne the likes of Avani Melbourne Box Hill Residences. Fostering global tourism partnerships was the main aim of these exhibits. The vibrant start and high delegate turnout highlight the strong interest and potential for growth in Australia’s tourism sector.
