Bringing together leading hotel and hospitality groups in Bali, the 10th Annual Yak Awards were held recently at the Mozaic Beach Club in Seminyak. Themed after ‘Disco Inferno’, the event saw guests dressed in attire reminiscent of those worn in the 70s and early 80s providing a fun evening of entertainment. There were many well known culinary venues taking part in the awards including Anantara Bali Uluwatu Resort & Spa, a leading accommodation provider amongst Uluwatu hotels.
During the ceremony, winners were awarded Yak statuettes. Created by Philip Lakeman and designed to resemble a ceramic disco shoe, the awards were handed out for categories such as Best Resort, Best Villa, Best Spa, Best Restaurant, Best DJ and Yak Man and Woman of the Year. Winners were selected by votes cast online by Yak fans, while Edwina Blush along with the Erik Sondhy Band provided live music, in keeping with the disco theme.
