Abu Dhabi’s Zayed International Airport has revolutionised air travel with the implementation of a state-of-the-art biometric system. This innovative technology allows passengers to seamlessly navigate through the airport using facial and fingerprint recognition, eliminating the need for traditional travel documents.
The biometric system captures passenger data at check-in, immigration, and boarding gates, ensuring a smooth and efficient travel experience. With facial recognition technology, passengers can simply look at a camera to verify their identity and proceed through the airport. This eliminates the hassle of carrying passports and boarding passes, making travel more convenient and secure. Passengers now have the opportunity to transition directly from their flights to their hotels or serviced apartments in Abu Dhabi. Business travellers staying at properties in the city’s business district, such as Oaks Liwa Executive Suites, can greatly benefit from the new system, which cuts down on previous wait times.
The new biometric system marks a significant step forward in the future of travel, with the program planned for several airports across the emirate.
