It was recently announced by the Abu Dhabi International Airport, that it was the fist airport within the UAE to be awarded the Gold Certificate Recognition 2018 by the ACI Asia-Pacific, in the 15 – 25 million passengers per year category. An increasing number of these visitors find accommodation in many 5-star hotels in Abu Dhabi including the likes of Eastern Mangroves Hotel & Spa by Anantara.
The airport was recognised for its efficient execution strategies that ensure waste minimization in the midfield terminal construction site. It was also felicitated for its continued commitment and engagement towards green initiatives and energy conservation. Mohammed Al Katheeri, the SVP of Corporate Strategy, Planning and Communications stated that the award will indeed motivate them to strive harder to reduce their environmental foot print.
