Air Mauritius, in collaboration with the Mauritius Tourism Promotion Authority, organized a Networking Gala Evening at Hotel Imperial in Delhi on April 14, 2023, to celebrate the resumption of direct flights from Delhi to Mauritius. The flagship carrier of Mauritius recommenced its operations to and from Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi starting May 3, 2023, with biweekly flights using the Airbus A330 aircraft.
The flights offer Business and Economy class configurations, accommodating 254 passengers, and have a flight duration of 7 hours and 30 minutes. The event was attended by dignitaries, including the High Commissioner of the Republic of Mauritius to India and executives from Air Mauritius and the Mauritius Tourism Promotion Authority. Air Mauritius CEO, Krešimir Kučko, expressed excitement about the resumption of operations and the special relationship between India and Mauritius. Arvind Bundhun, Director of the Mauritius Tourism Promotion Authority, expressed gratitude for the initiative, which is expected to increase tourism and footfall from the northern part of India to Mauritius. The Residence Mauritius and other hotels in addition to this are taking their own initiatives to attract tourists with the Mauritius hotel deals providing great stay packages.
