AirAsia X (AAX) has announced the exciting resumption of direct flights between Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, and Xi’an, China, effectively rekindling the connection between these two significant locations. This resumption, commencing April 4th, 2024, offers travellers the chance to explore Xi’An, the historic capital of Shaanxi Province and the oldest surviving capital in China.
Renowned as one of the four Great Ancient Capitals and the starting point of the Silk Road, Xi’an boasts a rich history and culture, exemplified by the Terracotta Warriors, the Great Wild Goose Pagoda, and the vibrant Muslim Quarter. This strategic move strengthens AAX’s presence in China, marking their fifth destination and complementing the AirAsia Group’s overall network within the country. Notably, the resumed service establishes AAX as the sole provider of direct flights between Kuala Lumpur and Xi’An, further enhancing travel convenience. Celebrating this resumption, AAX offered promotional fares, with one-way tickets starting from RM469. This limited-time offer was available for booking from January 24th to 28th, 2024, for travel dates between April 4th, 2024, and October 26th, 2024. Visitors made great use of these offers, taking up accommodation in Xian at properties such as lyf Dayanta Xian and exploring the deep-rooted history of the ancient city.
