On 15th February this year, British Airways commenced a new codeshare partnership with South African airline, Airlink which currently operates regional flights to 14 nations such as Namibia, Zambia and Zimbabwe; this provides a convenient link to Southern African destinations between not only the UK but Europe and North America as well. With the current codeshare partnership, travellers from Britain or transiting through the UK will have the flexibility to reach one of 18 cities and towns, through Johannesburg or Cape Town on a single ticket.
For example, passengers departing from London Heathrow Airport on British Airways can reach Windhoek, Namibia’s capital, via Johannesburg or Cape Town. This city continues to be a key choice for tourists who can stay at centrally located hotels in Windhoek with stringent health and hygiene measures in place. This includes properties like Avani Windhoek Hotel & Casino which offers access to wildlife encounters, cultural discoveries and fun entertainment. With the new codeshare partnership, more tourists will now be expected here and in other connected destinations.
