As highlighted in a press release on 20th June 2021, all Qatar National Tourism Council-licensed hotels are now certified as being “Qatar Clean”. This programme was launched in June 2020 in partnership with the Ministry of Public Health; the certification is given to properties like Souq Al Wakra Hotel Qatar by Tivoli that have adopted stringent protocols to ensure the highest levels of cleanliness and hygiene are maintained. Be it for accommodation, dining or making use of a spa in Doha, Qatar, such hotels offer safe stays for guests.
Following the success of the Qatar Clean certification for hotels, the Qatar National Tourism Council is looking to expand the initiative to other sectors including those related to culture, retail and transport. With the country additionally updating its entry policy in July 2021 to allow fully vaccinated tourists to visit without having to quarantine, the tourism industry is assuredly on the road to recovery.
