Ambassadors praise Phuket for actions during a pandemic – The most desired destination by the young travellers

Five diplomats from Panama, Canada, Kazakhstan, Colombia, Thailand, and the Philippines met with the Phuket governor, Narong Woonciew, in February to commend him on taking proactive measures when the pandemic was at its height; they also discussed other matters relating to their countries.

Raushan Yesbulatova, the diplomat representing Kazakhstan, was appreciative of the fact that Phuket repatriated her nationals and gave them flight discounts. Millicent Cruz-Paredes, ambassador for the Philippines, was also grateful for caring for her nationals living in Phuket. The other three ambassadors, Ana Maria Prieto Abad, Sarah Taylor, and Itzel Karina Chen Chan also stated that Phuket’s actions towards their citizens during the pandemic were admirable.

Phuket is one of the most visited destinations in the world. The tourism industry of Phuket felt a heavy blow during the pandemic, especially the luxury hotels in Phuket. But with the help of other tourist destinations and through diplomatic measures, Phuket is once again visited by tourists, placing hotels like Anantara Layan Phuket Resort high in demand.
