The Chinese New Year period once again proved beneficial for five star casino hotels in Macau as it led to an increase in bookings and room occupancy. Many 5 star hotels in Macau, especially those with casinos were fully booked during the period which ran from Chinese New Year’s Eve on 4th February to 10th February. Many such hotels enjoyed maximum occupancy including the likes of Hotel Okura Macau which had full bookings for four days during this festive period.
This increase in visitor numbers was mainly due to the influx of thousands arriving from the Chinese mainland looking to try their luck at the casinos during the New Year. Once the final figures come in, it is expected that the arrivals during this period will show growth when compared with last year. One reason for this increase could be credited to the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macau Bridge which offered convenient connections to Macau.
