New statistics related to Mauritius tourism have indicated that the average length for a stay in the country—9 to 11 nights—has now increased to 13 nights, with visitors using the extra time to book more excursions and experience more of the country. The Director for the Mauritius Tourism Authority, Mr Arvind Bundhun, indicated that marketing efforts for tourism have borne fruit, with messaging that focuses on beach destinations being the primary target of inbound travellers.
The representative went on to state that the numbers for tourism are “close to approaching pre-pandemic levels”, with many adventure seekers looking for the best things to do in Mauritius. This bodes well for industries related to tourism, such as the hospitality trade and popular brands like The Residence Mauritius, whose services are highly sought after.
