The Bali government plans to lift its travel restrictions for international tourists before 31st March 2021. Although tourism arrivals at Bali have dipped by 12% compared to 2019, the numbers have started climbing again with the reopening of tourism for domestic travellers who have been enjoying Bali hotel deals at some of the best properties around such as Nirjhara.
UNWTO visited Bali for the first time since the pandemic and collaborated with the crucial figures of the government of Indonesia in order to prepare the country to re-start its tourism for international visitors. A special workshop (Capacity Building Workshop on Restarting International Tourism in Bali) was also held focusing on this target, which was joined by over 180 experts and leaders in the industry, out of which 150 joined virtually.
