Bangkok 10th Most Popular Destination to Travel for New Year

TripAdvisor, the world’s largest travel website announced that Bangkok is ranked as the world’s 10th most popular destination among global travellers searching for a place to celebrate the New Year holiday. Significantly, Bangkok is the only Asian destination to have made it to the top 10 mainly due to its attractive costs. The hotel and hospitality trade benefits immensely due to this ranking and the influx of tourists from around the world to Bangkok and its major cities full of attractions. Among the many luxury hotels and resorts that would experience a significant impact with 100% bookings through-out the New Year season is Anantara Bophut Koh Samui Resort & Spa, a reputed all inclusive Samui hotel.

Besides cities like Chiang Mai and Hua Hin, Samui is also one of the favourite tourist hotspots and can expect the room rates during New Year in the city to rise up to significant levels with the high demand for accommodation. It is quite interesting to note that Thai travellers mostly preferred their local destinations over international ones for holidaying during the New Year season with seven Thai destinations in their top 10 with Chiang Mai ranking as No. 1.
