In Mastercard’s Global Destination Cities Index published this September, Bangkok was yet again named as the number one destination for travellers. This feat was made even more remarkable given the fact that it was the fourth consecutive year that the Thai capital had achieved the top spot. The city continues to be a popular draw for both business and leisure travellers; apart from diverse attractions, it also features various accommodation options be it at a Riverside Bangkok hotel the likes of Anantara Riverside Bangkok Resort or a budget hostel for backpackers.

According to the report, Bangkok had a total of 22.78 million overnight visitors in 2018 which helped gain it the number one ranking ahead of Paris (19.10 million visitors) and London (19.09 million visitors). Also noteworthy is the fact that Bangkok has achieved the number one ranking six times out of the past seven years.
