It was revealed at the beginning of the year on news.com.au, that based on a study by Skyscanner, Broome in Western Australia was number three in the most searched destinations in the world by Australians. Behind only London and Tokyo respectively, the town topped other Australian destinations and usual favourites like Bali, showing the interest locals had for coastal holidays here. With border restrictions easing up, domestic tourists can now easily enjoy the best of Broome; hotels and resorts the likes of Oaks Cable Beach Resort offer safe stays close to the beach and other popular local attractions.
The town received a further boost recently; as reported in March 2021 on the BBC website, the government unveiled a special scheme to provide half-price flights to encourage travel and bolster local tourism. Broome was amongst the selected holiday hotspots included as part of the subsidised destinations in this initiative and should see more arrivals to its sunny shores.
