Bullet Trains in Japan Offering Unique Entertainment – Rail Journeys Made More Memorable

Japan’s famed bullet trains, or Shinkansen, are evolving beyond simply offering swift commutes. They are transforming into unique entertainment hubs, making the journey itself an exciting prelude to one’s destination. This innovative approach recently caught the imagination of travellers once again who were reminded of the live wrestling matches that were held on such a journey; passengers on a Tokyo-Nagoya bullet train last September were treated to such an electrifying experience, with cheers of wrestling fans echoing through the compartment!

Meanwhile, in March this year, passengers travelling on the Green Car of the Kodama train on the Tokaido Shinkansen Line enjoyed a delectable sushi and sake pairing experience curated by a high-end restaurant in Tokyo. The premium tickets sold out quickly, highlighting the growing demand for such in-transit adventures.

Of course, apart from offering special entertainment and dining events, bullet trains continue to be a key transport option to reach destinations like Kyoto. Hotels within easy reach of the JR Kyoto Station such as Park Hotel Kyoto remain an ideal choice for those travelling by Shinkansen to this former capital known for its rich history and stunning natural beauty.
